College of Distinction recognizes Lewis University

Devotion to student learning and development earns Lewis University national recognition as a College of Distinction

Lewis University has been nationally recognized for the third consecutive year as a “College of Distinction.” The honor is given to colleges and universities that are recognized by education professionals nationwide as providing a strong focus on teaching undergraduates, a variety of innovative learning opportunities, an active campus with opportunities for personal development, excellence in academics, outstanding student preparation and much more.

Lewis University is devoted to great teaching. In the spirit of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the patron Saint of Educators, Lewis students are taught and mentored by experienced faculty dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. Offering more than 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, 25 graduate programs and certificates of advanced study, Lewis promotes and supports a well-rounded education.

Lewis offers students learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. For example, Lewis opens the door to new cultures and experiences for students through study abroad programs to more than 14 countries, mission trips to Bolivia and the Philippines, an annual Arts & Ideas series program featuring cultural, artistic and educational events on campus among others.

Students also have the opportunity to engage in their own personal development. Lewis’ small class sizes are tailored to meet the individual needs of students and allow greater interaction with professors. With more than 100 clubs and organizations, Lewis also provides students the opportunity to enrich their college experience and develop their mind, body and spirit.

Colleges of Distinction is an online resource that helps students, their families and their counselors select colleges and universities. Colleges of Distinction strives to help students find a college where they can grow, learn and ultimately succeed for the rest of their lives.
