Published: June 18, 2012. Lewis University Physics Assistant Professor Dr. Ryan Hooper’s research was recently published in the 19th Particles and Nuclei International Conference (PANIC11) proceedings. Hooper’s work, “Tevatron Measurements of Electroweak Boson Production” presents measurements of electroweak boson properties, final state particle distributions and charge asymmetries. The measurements were compared to theoretical predictions. Good agreement between measurement and prediction was demonstrated and in some cases the measurements offer additional guidance for future predictions. Hooper is a collaborator on the D-Zero Experiment at Fermilab. His research interests include: high energy physics, physics pedagogy and diesel engines. Hooper earned his doctoral degree in Experimental High Energy Physics at the University of Notre Dame, master’s degree in Physics at the University of Notre Dame and bachelor’s degree in Physics at Michigan State University. Lewis University is a Catholic university offering distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to nearly 6,500 traditional and adult students. Lewis offers multiple campus locations, online degree programs, and a variety of formats that provide accessibility and convenience to a growing student population. Sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis prepares intellectually engaged, ethically grounded, globally connected, and socially responsible graduates. The ninth largest private not-for-profit university in Illinois, Lewis has been nationally recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report.
