Lewis University Honors 800-Plus Graduates at Winter Commencement Ceremonies

Lewis University celebrated Winter Commencement ceremonies for about 850 students on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 on the universityís campus in Romeoville. The Winter Commencement ceremonies honor August and December graduates.

The celebration began Friday, December 15 with a Baccalaureate Mass followed by the Presidentís Reception for Graduates. Father Paul Novak, OSM, president of De La Salle Institute Chicago, served as the celebrant.

On Saturday, more than 380 men and women were awarded masterís degrees during the 9 a.m. Graduate Degree Ceremony.

On Sunday, more than 465 students were awarded bachelorís degrees during the two Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies. The College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Degree Ceremony was held in the morning. The Professional Colleges (Business, Education, and Nursing) Undergraduate Degree Ceremony was held in the afternoon.

Alexis Luna offered the Lasallian Address during an Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. The Streamwood, Illinois resident earned a bachelorís degree in Psychology. Her speech shared insights on the University Mission values of Knowledge and Association.

Dominica McNair of Plainfield received the Father Aquinas Colgan Award for her transformation while earning a bachelorís degree in Criminal Justice. The special recognition is awarded to a graduating senior during the universityís Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies held in May and December.
