2015 First-Year Common Reader: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time
Back by popular demand, 2015’s First-Year Common Reader is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon. The book was previously selected as the Common Reader in 2007.
The book follows the story of Christopher, a mathematically-gifted, autistic fifteen-year-old who decides to investigate the murder of a neighbor’s dog and uncovers secret information about his mother in the process.
Events inspired by Curious Incident will also be incorporated into the yearlong celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Watch your email and the Arts and Ideas calendar for more information. (And if you happen to be in New York City this fall, it has also been adapted into a Broadway play!)
