Lasallian Partners Visit Lewis Library

Juana Juha (center, in green) visited the Library from Bethlehem University, one of our partner Lasallian institutions.

This fall, the Library hosted two international visitors from our partner Lasallian institutions.

In September, Juana Juha, Secretary to the Library Director at Bethlehem University (BU), spent two weeks with the library staff, learning about various facets of library operations. Juana spent time with each of the library staff members, discussing their job responsibilities and observing them in instruction sessions and at the research desk. In addition, she taught the library staff about college life and academic library operations at BU. Highlights of her visit included a “road trip” to Lewis’s regional campuses and a visit to the public library in Bolingbrook.

Not long after Juana’s departure, Ruben Rubis, Academic Services Director at De La Salle Lipa in the Philippines, visited the library for two days in early October. During his time here, Ruben met with library administrators and staff and discussed Lewis library operations and services.

You’re in luck: Introducing group study room reservations at the Lewis University Library!

Groups of 2 to 12 students can book one of our group study rooms to study for exams, rehearse presentations, or work on group projects. All rooms are equipped with a whiteboard, DVD player, and flat screen TV.

Study rooms are available from the time the Library opens until one half-hour before closing time. Study Rooms 2, 3, and 4 are available for reservation online (at least 12 hours in advance) and by phone (anytime). Groups can reserve and use the study rooms for up to 3 hours per day.

(Procrastinator? Don’t worry! Study Room 1 is still available on a first-come, first-served basis for drop-in study sessions. You can also call the library to make same-day reservations.)
