A Look Back at Black Leaders in the Criminal Justice Profession

Lewis University has long been a leader in educating students who want to enter the Criminal Justice profession.

We currently have the largest enrollment in Criminal Justice programs among all private universities in Illinois.

Over these years, we have graduated numerous students who have gone on to careers of distinction, such as Charles Ramsey, a double-Lewis alum, former chief of police in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. and current criminal justice expert for CNN.

As we celebrate Black History Month, I invite you to read an essay by Dr. Morris Jenkins, associate professor of Criminal Justice at Lewis titled, A Look Back at Black Leaders in the Criminal Justice Profession. This is such a noble profession that is calling future leaders to come forward and make a difference.
