Endowed and Annual Scholarship Application Terms and Conditions

Dear Incoming and Transfer Lewis Students,

In an effort to create a more cohesive Lewis University endowed and annual scholarship application process for the 2012-2013 school year and going forward, the scholarship committee now requires that you read the information provided to you in this statement. If after reading the information, you are ready to begin the application process you will simply need to check that you have read the terms and complete your application. If you have further questions before beginning the process, please contact the Scholarship Coordinator, Kathy Bruss, via email at brusska@lewisu.edu.

  • The deadline for submitting your application is January 2nd by 11:59 p.m.

All applications submitted on or before the January 2, 2012 deadline will be given priority review for all scholarships.

  • The application must be completed in its entirety. Leaving blanks will make your application inadmissible.

Please submit true and correct information. The scholarships are for the year 2012-2013 so answer the questions for that academic year, i.e. if you are in high school now next year you will be a freshman.

When completing your essays, please remember to use spell check and to proof read your statements. Each essay question should be 200-300 words in length. (It is recommended that you write these essays in Word and copy and paste them into the appropriate box on the scholarship essay)

Essay Question One: From a financial standpoint, what impact would this scholarship have on your education?

Essay Question Two: What is your intended major and how do you plan to use your degree to impact that field in the future?

Essay Question Three: Why is Lewis University a good fit for you?

Essay Question Four: What is your greatest strength and how will it help you be successful?
  • Each scholarship award varies and can range from $150.00 to $5000.00.

  • If awarded a scholarship the amount of the award will be divided over two terms.

  • You must be registered full time (minimum 12 hours) in order to be eligible to receive your award.

  • You must be a traditional undergraduate student.

How the process works: The application process is open to all traditional undergraduate students. The scholarship coordinator, Kathy Bruss, will also be contacting prospective students directly via the email address provided on their application about scholarships that they may be specifically eligible for based on scholarship criteria. Once the review process has begun students may be asked to provide additional documentation to complete the application for a named scholarship, all communication again will be through the email address you provide on your submitted application.

If you are chosen as a recipient, your name will appear in scholarship publications and elsewhere as appropriate.
I have read all of the terms and conditions above and fully understand the requirements of the Lewis University endowed and annual application process. By clicking this box I am stating I am ready to begin the application process.
