Degree Format

Lewis' adult degree programs are designed for the needs of working professionals. What you learn in the classroom will build on the experience you've already gained in the workplace. Classes are participatory and interactive, so you learn from the experiences of your classmates, too. Small classes encourage a dynamic and engaging discussion.

The Applied Politics and Sociology program is based on a cohort format. This allows you to work with the same group of classmates throughout your time at Lewis. For adult students, this offers great benefits: you will be better able to develop lasting relationships and professional contacts among your classmates. But if you need to set your own pace, the program also offers flexibility.

To complete your Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sociology and Political Science, you must meet several requirements:

  • Completion of at least 128 semester credit hours
  • Completion of 32 semester graded credit hours at Lewis, including four upper division courses
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.00 for all courses taken at Lewis, and a 2.20 average for major courses.

The program is available at each of Lewis University's regional campuses.
