Private Security and Loss Prevention Management
Private Security and Loss Prevention is one of the fastest-growing fields in law enforcement. Industry professionals are typically private employees, who either provide security or develop security strategies.
There are many security needs for professionals to meet:
- Private security is required along transportation lines, and at entry points such as borders and ports.
- Advances in technology are creating new threats to information security.
- Even a simple problem like theft has big consequences, costing U.S. retailers $40 billion just last year.
Lewis University's Private Security and Loss Prevention Management program equips graduates to deal with challenges like these. As a student in this program, you will learn about the role of private security in preventing crime, protecting assets and keeping people safe.
As a student, you will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the field, taking courses such as The American Economy, Private Security Investigation, Safety and Risk Analysis, and Architectural Design. You will also take courses dealing with computer software, accounting and public relations.
