Institute for Information Assurance
Activities
The activities supported by the Institute for Information Assurance fall into three broad areas of scholarship: (a) research (b) education and (c) outreach. The following are examples of activities that might be funded under each area:
Research
- Provide support to faculty to conduct research and apply for grants.
- Provide support to students to conduct research.
- Encourage collaborative faculty-student research projects
- Research equipment and materials.
- Support publication of research studies.
Education
- Invite Guest lecturers/speakers for talks on campus
- Establish an Information Security Symposia at Lewis University
- Encourage faculty participation in off-campus symposia/conferences
- Integrate IIA-supported work into curriculum
- Provide internship and co-op opportunities
- Support scholar-in-residence programs
Community Outreach
- Conduct roundtable events to obtain industry participation and feedback
- Sponsor joint research projects with corporate partners
- Hold summer programs for educational, corporate and/or military partners such as ROTC
