Institute for Information Assurance

Activities

The activities supported by the Institute for Information Assurance fall into three broad areas of scholarship: (a) research (b) education and (c) outreach.  The following are examples of activities that might be funded under each area:

Research

  • Provide support to faculty to conduct research and apply for grants.
  • Provide support to students to conduct research.
  • Encourage collaborative faculty-student research projects
  • Research equipment and materials.
  • Support publication of research studies.

Education

  • Invite Guest lecturers/speakers for talks on campus
  • Establish an Information Security Symposia at Lewis University
  • Encourage faculty participation in off-campus symposia/conferences
  • Integrate IIA-supported work into curriculum
  • Provide internship and co-op opportunities
  • Support scholar-in-residence programs

Community Outreach

  • Conduct roundtable events to obtain industry participation and feedback
  • Sponsor joint research projects with corporate partners
  • Hold summer programs for educational, corporate and/or military partners such as ROTC
