Dr. Rami Khasawneh

Dr. Rami Khasawneh

Dr. Rami Khasawneh is the Dean of the College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University. He is also a Professor of Management Information Systems. Dr. Khasawneh has been at Lewis University since 2001. Dean Khasawneh is involved in the development and organization of many conferences and journals such as editor-in-chief of the International Management Review Journal, member of the advisory board for the Scientific Journals International, member of the editorial board for the ACBSP conference proceedings, member of the International Board of Reviewers for the Computer Science and Information Technology Education, member of the International Data Corporation Enterprise Panel, member of the International Business Information Management Conference program committee. He also published and presented many papers in different journals and conferences including his keynote speeches in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility at the International Conference on Technical Barriers to Trade and Standardization at Jiliang China University, the International Forum on Tourism Management at Shandong University and the inauguration ceremony for the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors. In addition to his academic and scholar work he has extensive consulting experience in the area of information technology and project management. He consulted with many companies including Whittman-Hart, Citibank, AT&T, Universal Studios, Applied Systems and Nicor Gas.

Dr. Faisal Abdullah
Dr. Faisal Abdullah, CISSP, ACE

Associate Professor of MIS and Information Security, Interim Chair of Department of Information Systems, Director of Master of Science in Information Security (MSIS) Program.

Dr. Abdullah is an information security specialist and multi-disciplinary educator at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He brings to his students a working knowledge of wired and wireless networking, operating systems, forensic tools, e-discovery, intrusion detection and prevention systems, database security strategies, network and security protocols and cryptography algorithms. In addition, Dr. Abdullah has an understanding of regulations such as SOX, GLBA, HIPPA and FSGA and security frameworks like ISO 27000, NIST controls, and COBIT. He has assisted in development and maintenance organizational security policies, developed security solutions in support of security strategy, evaluated new and existing computing assets, and developed security awareness material. Dr. Abdullah has conducted security assessments, analyzed security requirements and coordinated inter-departmental teams and has an in-depth knowledge of quantitative, qualitative, and hybrid risk assessment procedures and disaster recovery planning.

Dr. Ibrahim Mescioglu
Dr. Ibrahim Mescioglu

Dr. Ibrahim Mescioglu, Assistant Professor of MIS, received his Ph.D. degree in Management Science (Management Information Systems concentration) from the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his master's degree in Information Technology and Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, and his bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Bilkent University in Turkey.

Prior to joining Lewis University, he was an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at Purdue University - Calumet and Texas A&M International University. He also worked as a software consultant and systems analyst. His research interests include healthcare information systems, recommendation systems, and e-collaboration.

Dr. Safwan Omari
Dr. Safwan Omari

Dr. Safwan Omari has more than 10 years of experience in the IT field. He has a strong teaching as well as Industry experience. Since finishing his BSc in Computer Science in 1995, Dr. Omari has taught many IT courses at several Universities including Wayne State University, JUST, and NYiT. He also, worked as a Software Engineer at Amazon. Dr. Omari holds an MSc degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a PhD in Computer Science from Wayne State University. Dr. Omari is very interested in the interplay of business and technology.
