Highlights
- Lewis' Department of Mathematics and Computer Science competes annually in the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area math competition. Students get the opportunity to hone their math skills while participating in fun projects with their classmates and professors.
- Small classes enable students to receive personal attention and guidance from our seven full-time faculty members. Professors help students identify their career goals, and how to achieve them. With feedback from our students and graduating seniors, we're always working to improve the student experience.
- Interested in teaching? Lewis' Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers a teacher certification program that's fully approved by the State Teacher Certification Board, along with the Illinois State Board of Education. To enroll, mathematics majors must declare a minor in Secondary Education. Upon graduation, they'll be prepared to teach grades 6-12 in Illinois public and private schools.
