August 30, 2010 What’s New in Copyright at Lewis!

  1. New exemptions allow university faculty, staff and students to exerpt short portions of motion pictures on DVD’s for purposes of criticism or comment. The person using the exerpts must have purchased the DVD personally in order to constitute “fair use”.

  2. EBSCO and ProQuest contain many databases that allow a direct link to their full-text articles. See Jana Fast, Reference and eResources Librarian for more information X5300.

  3. Assistance with obtaining copyright through the Copyright Clearance Center can be obtained by contacting Dr. Julie Krahl, Interim Director of the Library, X5293.
