Mission Statement

The program mission statement draws on the Lewis University mission and the goals of Lasallian universities in that it is committed to providing excellent educational program in foreign languages that would enable Lewis University graduates to communicate with people from different cultures who speak other languages, thus promoting understanding, tolerance and appreciation of foreign cultures.

Our Mission statement is based on the following beliefs:

• We believe that studying a foreign language also helps people to understand how languages work, one's own or other languages.
  
  
• We believe that the traditional rationale that learning a language deepens understanding of the world should be supplemented by the idea that language study should be practical and enhance students’ professional opportunities in later life.
