Activity

There are several animals mentioned in this chapter. These include wolves, hunting hounds, horses, chickens, owls; not to mention any other animal that you have come across in any other chapter as well. Students will create a WebQuest on Animal Diversity and use the web sites Animal Diversity Web.com, along with any related literature that you find. We will be going to the library and also working on this during class time. Students will work in groups of 3 and research 2 animals of their choice. Species name, characteristics, habitats, methods of hunting prey, pictures, sounds, descriptions, etc. are all suggestions of what can be included. Be creative in your presentation of this research project as each group will be sharing their final work with the class. We will be meeting with each group to begin your research project and to answer any additional questions. Have fun and let's learn about some animals that Lady Ilena came in contact with on her journeys!

(Students will have access to specific books to use, reference materials, encyclopedias, etc.)

Student Choice: Any student who would like to propose an alternate learning activity for Lady Ilena is welcome to talk with us about their idea(s). Any suggestions are more than welcome!

This concludes our activities for Chapters 10 & 11.
