College of Business Internships

Overview

Internships can result from one of three avenues.

  1. A student may be able to use a current work environment for internship credit. Each specific job would have to be approved by the Internship Coordinator. Jobs must provide the student with the opportunity to learn advanced business skills.

  2. The College of Business also seeks companies willing to offer internships to students. Information on what is currently available can be obtained from the Internship Coordinator. Internships can be started at any time, not just at the beginning of semester.

  3. Students can seek internship opportunities from companies - see Laura Leli Carmine for approval.

For each internship, the coordinator will discuss with the student's supervisor the goals and objectives for the student. The student will work a minimum of 200 hours mastering these objectives. The Internship Coordinator will conduct a final evaluation with the student's supervisor. Upon completion of the internship, the student will submit a 10-20 page typewritten paper summarizing the activities performed and learning accomplished. The evaluation and paper constitute the student's grade for the internship.
