FIELD-BASED ELEMENTARY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM/MASTER OF ARTS

This is a field-based program leading to elementary certification and a Master of Arts degree. Candidates spend the entire school year in a partnership school working with a mentor teacher.

PREREQUISITES

  • Successful completion of the Illinois Basic Skills Test

  • Initial interview with University representative(s)

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution

  • Enter with a minimum of 2.75 grade point average for Bachelor's level coursework and maintain a minimum of 3.0 during the program

  • Eighteen hours in an endorsement area (See Program Director for list of acceptable areas of endorsement)

  • Substitute Certificate
