Lewis University offers a variety of study abroad opportunities. Students may study abroad on semester or summer programs while taking courses applicable to their major, minor, General Education, foreign language enhancement, or electives. Also, professors develop and lead short-term Travel Study programs that offer Lewis credit. Studying abroad provides unique opportunities to learn about diverse issues and global topics by going beyond the classroom and experiencing them first-hand. Fees and costs for semester and summer programs are reasonably close to those of Lewis University for tuition, room, and board.
Basic eligibility requirements include a minimum of a 3.0 GPA (2.75 for Travel Study programs) and sophomore, junior, or first-semester senior status at the time of participation. Financial aid may be applied in most cases, and fluency in a language is not required. Interested students should begin preparing for this opportunity early in their college program since applications are due at the beginning of the semester before the program begins. For application materials, current listings of opportunities, and more details about the programs, check the ISA website at www.lewisu.edu/studyabroad or contact the International Study Abroad office located in LARC (815-836-5993, email@example.com).
