IV. Registration and Progression
In order to register for and enroll in Foundations of Professional Nursing (30-201) at Lewis University, prelicensure nursing students, including transfer students, must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above. Students who earn a grade of "W", or "D" in any required nursing course at any level must repeat that course prior to moving to another level of nursing coursework. Students must receive a grade of "C" in required science courses to progress to the next semester in the program. The student earning a grade of C-, D,F, or W on a required science course (Organic and Biochemistry, Anatomy & Physiology I/Lab, Anatomy & Physiology II/Lab, Microbiology/Lab) may repeat that science course receiving a grade of C or better on the second attempt. Failure to receive a grade of C or better OR the failure of a second science course will result in dismissal from the nursing major and/or ineligibility for admission to the major. Students who earn a grade of "F" in any required nursing course at any level will be dismissed from the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Students who earn two "D" grades in required nursing courses (two "D" grades in one course, or one "D" grade in each of two courses) will be dismissed from the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Dismissal from the College of Nursing and Health Professions does not necessarily result in dismissal from the University.

V. The advanced writing requirement of the General Education curriculum is satisfied for Nursing majors by successful completion of Nursing Research (30-301).

VI. The college writing, natural science, ethics , mathematics, social science and cultural diversity General Education requirements are fulfilled by the non-nursing support courses.
