SECONDARY CERTIFICATION IN SOCIAL SCIENCE WITH PSYCHOLOGY DESIGNATION
In conjunction with the College of Education, the Psychology Department offers an option which prepares candidates to teach in grades 6-12 in public and private schools in the State of Illinois. The program is approved by the State Teacher Certification Board in conjunction with the Illinois State Board of Education and includes all the requirements for a major in Psychology. A student majors in Psychology and completes a teaching minor in a Social Studies discipline or completes a teaching minor outside the social studies area. Psychology majors will declare a Minor in Secondary Education and should consult with advisors in both the Psychology Department and the College of Education.
