COURSE: 36-100 Basic Reading Methods (3)
This course is designed to provide basic reading skills necessary to succeed in college. Emphasis is on finding the main idea, major details and minor details; writing a summary; inferential and evaluative reading; vocabulary awareness; and application of basic study skills. The international section also emphasizes recognition of rhetorical forms and structure of argument. Prerequisite: Placement evaluation. Offered: Every semester, RMVL.
