COURSE: 16-405 Athletic Training Clinical III (1)
This course requires students to follow an athletic team for a semester. This clinical experience takes place either on or off campus. Students are expected to accumulate 300 clinical hours of hands-on experience under the direct supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer. Responsibilities include injury assessments; prevention measures; rehabilitation; regular communication with coaches; athletes and physicians; administrative duties and day-to-day athletic training room responsibilities. Attendance at all practices and home competitions is required. Clinical assignments focus on BOC exam review. This course also discusses professional development for athletic trainers, professional organizations and the code of ethics. Student must be admitted to the ATEP and have program director approval. Offered: Fall and Spring.
