COURSE: 53-325 Special Methods: Teaching English in the Secondary School (3)
Objectives, techniques, and methodology for teaching English in the middle and secondary schools are the focus of this course. Emphasis is placed on literary instruction, especially the teaching of poetry, fiction and drama. Activities integrate writing in a holistic manner. Prerequisite: 2.75 GPA; Consent of Education Advisor. This is a pre-service course. Students should have completed most of their required major courses prior to taking this class. Offered: Fall.
