Aviation - Aircraft Maintenance

There are three curriculum options at Lewis for someone preparing for employment in the aviation maintenance field; Certificate Program, Associate Degree Program and the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance and Management. There is also an option of a Minor in Aviation Maintenance. All programs earn college credits and the certificate program is FAA approved under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 147.

The Associate Degree Program includes the Certificate Program, with the addition of one more semester to include general education coursework and an aviation elective. This is a 2-1/2 year program, or five semesters.

AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY/ASSOCIATE DEGREE

Total Credit Hours: 77-78
Major Credit Hours: 68-69

This five-semester program prepares the student for a career in the field of aviation maintenance and includes additional business and written and oral communications courses. The successful student will complete a minimum of 77 to 78 academic credit hours and receive Lewis University Certificates of Completion for both Airframe and Powerplant.
